Veterinarian
Dr. Rod Munsell is a general practitioner and the owner of Neighborhood Pet Health Center. He grew up in rural Texas and was always surrounded by dogs, cats, horses and other animals. He loves animals, and his desire to help pets, along with his interest in science and medicine, led him to veterinary medicine.

As an undergraduate, he attended Texas A&M University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1985. He went on to attend the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.

Dr. Munsell enjoys treating challenging orthopedic, dermatology, and cardiology cases in his practice.

Dr. Munsell's wife, Karen, is also a veterinarian. They have four young children. Their family also includes a Jack Russell Terrier named Rascal.
A general practitioner at Neighborhood Pet Health Center, Dr. Russell Johnson has cared for pets here since 2009. His grandfather was a practicing veterinarian and Dr. Johnson grew up hearing stories about his grandfather's practice in Texas. This, along with a lifelong love of animals, inspired Dr. Johnson to become a veterinarian and care for pets.

A native of Abilene, Texas, Dr. Johnson attended Abilene Christian University as an undergraduate and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1984. He continued his education at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.

Dr. Johnson is Penn Hip-certified. He is particularly interested in cases involving dermatology, endocrinology and internal medicine.

He and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of a son, Reese. The family also includes two long-haired Dachshunds, Chisum and Lilly. When he's not caring for pets at the hospital, Dr. Johnson enjoys being outdoors and can often be found camping and fishing.
